So here are our recommendations for the best restaurants in Barcelona by the beach!
10 Best Barcelona Beachfront Restaurants
That's right, we've come up with a list of the most amazing beach restaurants in Barcelona that can give you the perfect combination of delicious food, sea views of Barcelona, and that laid-back Mediterranean vibe.
If you're craving some fresh seafood, modern Catalan cuisine, or just a chilled drink by the water, these spots are guaranteed to enhance your Barcelona dining experience.
Barraca

Location: Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta, 1, Ciutat Vella, 08003
A sleek restaurant that delivers on its promise of fresh, organic, and locally sourced food with a front-row view of the sea. It's a favorite among locals and well-informed tourists alike who want more than just the usual restaurants without straying too far from the beach.
Barraca specializes in rice dishes and paellas, especially the paella de marisco (seafood paella), made with rich broth, plump prawns, and perfectly cooked rice. Don't forget to try the mussels in Romesco sauce as an appetizer.
You definitely wouldn't wanna miss it!
We recommend you reserve a table beforehand since it gets crowded during the weekends or summer evenings.
Xiringuito Escribà

Location: Avinguda del Litoral, 62
A short walk from the Bogatell Beach, this place is where tradition meets casual beach culture, making it perfect for both locals and tourists who want to experience Catalonia’s rich rice-making heritage right by the sea.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the paellas, cooked expertly over open fires using recipes passed down through generations (or so we've heard!).
We tried three different paellas: seafood, vegetarian, and pork, and best believe each and every one was scrumptious.
We paired our meals with a glass of local white wine to really complete the experience. I recommend going at lunchtime, after a morning stroll at the beach, since the food is light enough to eat without making you feel like you're bloated right after.
Pez Vela

Location: Passeig del Mare Nostrum, 19, Ciutat Vella, 08039
Situated just below the W Hotel, Pez Vela is a trendy chiringuito (informal beach bar) that will give you unobstructed views of the Mediterranean Sea.
The place has a spacious, open-air terrace adorned with wooden decking and shaded by esparto grass blinds, creating a beach hut-inspired vibe.
We started with the creamy lobster croquettes, then had the squid rice, quesada alteña (beef chuck stew), and grilled sardines. The overall atmosphere was both lively and relaxed, which makes it best for long lunches or evening meals with family.
However, be warned! The place is extremely packed that even reservations are hard to come by. We're lucky we secured a spot in the first place. Also, the service may be somewhat rude to others, and also very slow since there are so many people being served.
Ca La Nuri

Location: Pg. Marítim de la Barceloneta, 55, Ciutat Vella, 08003
If you’re looking for a place to eat in Barcelona by the sea, with a paella dish to die for, Ca La Nuri could be a great option for you. The ambiance here is warm and inviting, which was what instantly brought us inside in the first place.
The service is efficient, and we personally watched the staff strive to accommodate groups and families, making sure everyone gets a pleasant eating experience.
Want to save this?
Don’t hesitate to ask the staff for daily specials or their personal favorites!
We tried their arroz de mar y muntanya (chicken, prawns, and cuttlefish rice), grilled coquina clams with garlic and lemon, and some eco summer salad. We even had dessert: a classic crème brûlée.
Cova Fumada

Location: Carrer del Baluard, 56, Ciutat Vella, 08003
Established in 1944, La Cova Fumada is a tavern that has remained a staple in Barceloneta neighborhood for generations. It has quite a humble exterior; we're talking no signage at all, but the place is often bustling with locals.
Their food and drinks are reasonably priced, which we absolutely loved. We tried their la bomba, which is a deep-fried potato ball filled with spiced meat, topped with aioli and a spicy sauce.
This was said to have been invented here by the grandmother of the current owners.
To avoid long queues, it's advisable to arrive around opening time, especially during peak hours. Seating is first-come, first-served, so plan accordingly. Be open to sharing tables with fellow diners, as this is part of the communal dining experience. We shared tables with a lovely couple who were there in the city for their third time!
Salt Restaurant & Beach Club

Location: Passeig del Mare Nostrum, 19, Ciutat Vella, 08039
Sitting at the edge of La Barceloneta and attached to the iconic W Barcelona Hotel, this is one of the best restaurants near the beach that offers Southern Californian‑Mediterranean Barcelona food.
We only had appetizers here as we were not quite hungry yet. We ordered the mizuna prawn salad, cod steak with smoked romesco sauce, and the seawater‑fresh seabass ceviche with creamy guacamole, which was a fan-favorite (and we definitely understood why!).
The staff was attentive and friendly, but the service itself was slow. Prices also lean high but we think it's worthit for the view, vibe, and food.
Gallito

Location: Passeig del Mare Nostrum, 19, Ciutat Vella, 08039
Right next to the famous Hotel Vela and a short walk from the silky sand of Barceloneta Beach, Gallito nestles at the end of the promenade overlooking Platja de Sant Sebastià. It has a breezy, vine-shaded terrace draped in grapevine leaves and rosemary. The place is considered an upscale chiringuito with chic décor.
The Baja California shrimp tacos and chicharrón de pulpo (crispy fried octopus) were to die for. We also had the shrimp, squid, and artichoke paella as well as the beef tenderloin tacos, which the local food bloggers dubbed a must-have.
The place itself has changing rooms and showers that make it ideal for post-beach meals.
There are also some generous sangria pitchers and patatas bravas that are served to diners. Prices hover around €30 to €40 per person, which feels fair given the prime beachfront location and quality of dishes.
Can Majó

Location: Carrer d'Emília Llorca Martín, 23, Ciutat Vella, 08003
A classic family-run seafood eatery founded in 1968 with a long-standing reputation for serving some of the freshest catches in the city.
It has an elegant nautical-themed interior and a showcase of fresh daily shellfish and grilled fish.
You absolutely must try their seafood fideuà, a noodle-based seafood dish that locals and travelers alike rave about. Their paella is also amazing: loaded with prawns, mussels, clams, scallops, and squid, a dream for seafood enthusiasts!
Studio Miramar Restaurant

Location: PlaçPlaça de Carlos Ibáñez, 3, Sants-Montjuïc, 08038
Perched on Montjuïc within the elegant Hotel Miramar, Studio Miramar serves contemporary market-driven Mediterranean cuisine in a refined indoor dining room and a sunlit terrace with a sweeping view of the sea in Barcelona.
Standout dishes include impeccably grilled octopus atop pea purée, light and fluffy croquettes, and a generous prawn paella, which is arguably the best in town.
Its winery boasts an extensive wine list that has both Spanish and international origins.
Their avant-garde cuisine is indeed best paired with their wine!
1881 Per Sagardi

Location: Pça. de Pau Vila, 3, Ciutat Vella, 08039
With amazing views over the port of Barcelona to enjoy, the main dining room and adjacent cocktail bar on the Terrassa de les Indianes gave us the perfect way to end the day, as we had witnessed a beautiful sunset during dinner.
Standouts include the signature arroz caldoso, sea-to-plate grilled fish, tender chipirones a la andaluza, and classic zarzuela de pescado y marisco.
We also tried some artisan cocktails and watched a performance by a local DJ. The entire experience was short of magical!
